“I Missed You”

Those. 3. Words. Almost as good as I Love You. And even better when they come from a two year old.

Of course I love that Ava is talking now, so she can tell us what she needs/wants. But the best part is when the words she says are ones where you can tell she is learning to love through what she hears frequently from us. Today, I got my first “I missed you” from this little love. She got into bed with me early this morning (after not sleeping with me last night), and wrapped her arms around my neck and said “I missed you”. It was so sweet and totally made it even more difficult to get out of bed, as I just wanted to cuddle all the cuteness that is my sweet Ava. So here is a throwback of one of my favorite pictures of this little angel. Love you baby!

New Year, New Site!

2016!!! Wait, what? How is this possible? Well, we all know time moves way too fast. The days, weeks, months, and years seem to multiply in an instant. I do my best to keep up most days, but, let’s be honest, life isn’t slowing down any time soon.

For the last six  years, I have worked outside of the home while raising my two girls, Grace and Ava, with my husband Jacob. That doesn’t leave a ton of time to stop and smell the roses. Life is busy, WE are busy! But I don’t want life to speed by without allowing myself to pause, reflect, and give thanks. It is my hope that this blog will allow me to do that.

There aren’t many things that I am crazy in love with. Except my family, and well, an old love that I’ve sort of forgotten about. Writing. I did a lot of it in high school and college. Most of it was hurried and in an environment of meeting deadlines and academic topics. However, I always enjoyed the process of sitting down with an idea, an opinion, a problem, etc., and formulating my thoughts and research onto a keyboard, hoping to create some meaning.

My goal with this blog is to chronicle the moments that seem to quickly pass us by, thus providing my children with a keepsake of memories, all while allowing Mommy to get back in touch with her writing side.

Welcome!
